Diaspora/International

St. Brigid’s name became synonymous with the emigration of ordinary Irish women in the 19th century, who left in search of a better life.  Today Ireland is home to many immigrants who have made the country their home. ‘Brigid 1500’ is a time to celebrate both the emigration and immigration of women and to share their stories.  If you would like to learn more about hosting a ‘Brigid 1500’ event, please email us at Brigid1500 (@) kildarecoco.ie.
